These drawings capture the felt experience of anxiety. Drawing becomes a coping strategy, a way to shift focus from the mind to the body. Anxiety is experienced as pressure, centered in the gut. By knotting and tangling the intestines, the drawings evoke sensations of emptiness, heaviness and sharpness, heightening vulnerability.
